About

Amanda Van Horn, a local Indianapolis pastry chef and lover of all things food, founded the Lilac Kitchen to help individuals and families discover new convenience at home. She sought to offer cooking services that promote a fresh and healthy lifestyle while taking care of others.

MEET CHEF AMANDA


“I was raised on drive-thru service and boxed meals, and not until my mid-twenties did an appreciation of fresh ingredients and local living become a reality. After many at home experiments, I put myself out there and landed a job with a local paleo meal prep company, spending three years baking gluten/dairy/refined sugar free desserts. Shortly after, I enrolled in Culinary School and graduated with my degree in Baking and Pastry Arts.

Not only do I get to bake for all my family and friends, but I get to create custom menus and delicious meals for clients. You can also catch me Saturday mornings at the Broadripple Farmer’s Market sharing fresh product with other Indianapolis locals.

I love cooking for others and I look forward to taking care of you!”
